Your guide to becoming a bookstagrammer!

I am now on Bookstagram for more than a year, and I can easily say that it has been one of my best decisions yet! Here are a few tips on starting your own bookstagram account!

1. If you have even the slightest thought to start a bookstagram, do it. I was quite hesitant at first, but this community is so huge and supportive that you’ll fit right in!

2. Be yourself. The aspect that will make you stand out from other bookstagrammers is your own opinions and styles. Readers look for unique books that aren’t all over bookstagram! (Believe it!)

3. Always be honest! Don’t ever feel shy to say it like it is. Not everyone will have the same opinion of a book and that’s fine! Being honest will gain you a following that will trust your reviews.

4. Stick to a theme! When someone follows you, they look at your feed or a specific picture, and so they follow to get more of similar content. Plus, it makes your account look pretty :)

5. When you start, follow other bookstagrammers! Don’t be afraid to follow others first, as this is how you start growing your account. The community is very supportive and will probably end up sharing your account for others to follow. Also don’t be afraid to ask questions or for advice, I’m 99% certain that everyone will gladly assist!

6. Be consistent! I’ve noticed that not posting a lot has lost me followers, and so it's always good to have a schedule in place in which you post on certain days. Make sure this schedule fits in with your daily life as we don’t want procrastination.

7. Reels are your best friends! Believe it or not, majority of my followers come in after I post a reel. Nowadays people are constantly scrolling through them, and this is how you can make your account known!

8. Make unique reels! Follow other bookstagrammers reels to gain insight of what people are looking for and add your own spice and style. This will ensure that you stand out while also being relevant. Also, ask your followers! Their opinions can be really helpful.

9. Be supportive to other bookstagrammers! Everyone is struggling with this crazy algorithm, so make sure to follow, comment and share others posts!
